superblock.social LLC ("Superblock," "we," "our," or "us") operates the Superblock mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). Superblock is a social platform that enables users to form groups, match with other groups, and communicate through real-time messaging.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Service. By creating an account, accessing, or using Superblock, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Community Guidelines (incorporated herein by reference). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
Please read these Terms carefully. They contain important information about your legal rights, including a binding arbitration clause and class action waiver in Section 15.

1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If we learn or have reason to believe that a user is under the age of 18, we will promptly terminate that user's account and delete all associated personal information.
The Service is not directed to individuals under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has created an account on Superblock, please contact us at support@superblock.social.
2. Account Registration and Security
To use the Service, you must create an account by authenticating through a supported third-party OAuth provider (Google, Apple, or Microsoft). You will also create a display username.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information during registration and keep your account information current.
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of your account credentials and authentication methods.
- Immediately notify us at support@superblock.social if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not you authorized that activity.
You may not create more than one account per person. You may not create an account on behalf of another individual or entity. Superblock reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms.
2.1 Device Integrity
The Service is intended for use on unmodified devices running official operating system software. You may not use the Service on devices that have been rooted (Android) or jailbroken (iOS). Rooting or jailbreaking removes security protections that Superblock relies on to keep the platform safe, including device identity verification and tamper detection. We may detect and block access from compromised devices. If your device is detected as rooted or jailbroken, you will be unable to log in or use the Service until the device is restored to an unmodified state.
3. The Service
Superblock is a group-based social platform. The core features of the Service include:
- Groups: You may create or join groups with other users. Groups are the fundamental unit of interaction on Superblock. Group creation, membership, and management are subject to platform limits that may vary by subscription tier.
- Matching: Superblock matches your group with other groups for time-limited conversations. Matches are temporary by design and may be based on location proximity, affiliation, preferences, or other criteria. Matching requires location sharing to be enabled.
- Messaging: All conversations-both within your group and in matched chats-are protected by end-to-end encryption (E2EE). We cannot read message content unless a specific message is reported for moderation, in which case that message is shared with our moderation team for review.
- Profiles: You may create a profile with a display username, avatar, bio, and optional information such as age and affiliation. Profile information may be visible to other users.
- Explore: The Service provides discovery features that allow users to browse other groups, view leaderboards, and see who is nearby.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
4.1 Subscription Tiers
Superblock offers free and paid subscription tiers (currently Free and Plus). Paid tiers provide access to additional features and higher platform limits, such as additional group slots. The specific features and limits of each tier are described within the Service and may change from time to time.
4.2 Billing and Auto-Renewal
Paid subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store (collectively, “App Stores”). By subscribing to a paid tier, you authorize the applicable App Store to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
All payment processing is handled entirely by the App Stores. Superblock never collects, receives, stores, or has access to your payment card numbers, bank account details, or other payment method information. We receive only subscription status information (such as your current tier, renewal dates, and transaction identifiers) through our subscription management provider, RevenueCat.
4.3 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until your current billing period expires. After expiration, your account will revert to the Free tier, and you may be required to resolve any excess usage (such as additional groups beyond the Free tier limit) through an in-app resolution process.
4.4 Refunds
All payments are processed by the applicable App Store. Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple or Google through their respective refund processes. Superblock does not directly process refunds. We recommend reviewing the refund policies of the Apple App Store and Google Play Store for details.
4.5 Price Changes
We may change subscription pricing at any time. If we increase the price of a subscription, we will provide notice through the App Store or within the Service before the change takes effect. Continued use of a paid subscription after a price change constitutes your acceptance of the new price.
5. Community Guidelines
Superblock is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all users. Superblock has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. By using the Service, you agree to abide by the following Community Guidelines. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban, as described in Section 6.
5.1 Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to engage in any of the following conduct while using the Service:
- Harassment: Repeated unwanted contact, insults, intimidation, bullying, or any behavior intended to threaten, demean, or distress another user.
- Hate Speech: Content or conduct that promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
- Threats and Violence: Threats of violence, physical harm, or intimidation directed at any individual or group, whether explicit or implied.
- Sexual Content: Sexually explicit, suggestive, or pornographic content of any kind.
- Self-Harm Content: Content that promotes, encourages, glorifies, or provides instructions for self-harm or suicide.
- Doxxing: Sharing another person’s private or personal information-including real name, address, phone number, email address, or other identifying information-without their explicit consent.
- Impersonation: Pretending to be another person, organization, or entity in a misleading manner, or creating fake profiles that do not accurately represent a real individual.
- Spam: Repetitive, unsolicited, or misleading content designed to disrupt the community, promote external products or services, or manipulate platform features.
- Illegal Activity: Content or conduct that promotes, facilitates, or constitutes illegal activity under applicable law.
5.2 Content Standards
Superblock distinguishes between public-facing content and private in-chat content, and applies different standards to each.
Public-facing content (usernames, bios, group names, group descriptions, and avatars) is visible to users outside of a conversation and is held to a stricter standard. Public-facing content must not contain offensive, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate material.
In-chat content (messages exchanged in group and match conversations) is private between participants. While we permit a wider range of expression in private conversations, including humor, banter, and casual language, in-chat content must not contain:
- Threats, cyberbullying, harassment, or any content that constitutes illegal activity.
- Genuinely hateful or malicious content targeting individuals or groups based on protected characteristics.
- Doxxing or sharing of another person's private information without their consent.
5.3 Reporting and Community Enforcement
If you encounter content or behavior that violates these Community Guidelines, you may report it through the in-app reporting features. We review all reports and take action as described in Section 6. Additionally, sufficient reports from the community may result in automatic enforcement actions, including account suspension or removal, without direct intervention by our moderation team. Filing false or malicious reports is itself a violation of these Terms and may result in enforcement action against the reporting user.
6. Moderation and Enforcement
6.1 Enforcement Actions
Superblock reserves the right to take any of the following actions in response to violations of these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or applicable law:
- Removal or modification of offending content.
- Issuance of warnings to the offending user.
- Temporary suspension of the offending user’s account for a defined period.
- Permanent ban of the offending user’s account.
- Removal of the offending user from groups and active matches.
- Suspension or banning of groups that violate Community Guidelines.
Enforcement actions are determined at our sole discretion and may be escalated based on the severity and frequency of violations. Repeated violations will result in progressively harsher penalties, up to and including permanent account termination.
6.2 Moderation Methods
Superblock enforces these Terms and the Community Guidelines primarily through automated systems, with human review available on request. Automated systems, including artificial intelligence, may detect and flag potential violations, and in clear-cut cases, take immediate action. This includes both review of user-submitted reports and proactive scanning of public-facing content (usernames, bios, group names, pool titles and descriptions) to detect offensive content that bypasses basic filters. When proactive scanning confirms a violation, the offending content may be automatically replaced with a safe placeholder. Content flagged as involving child safety is always routed to a person. While we strive for accuracy, errors may occasionally occur, and a person can review and reverse any decision on request. You may appeal any moderation decision, including automated content replacements.
6.3 Appeals
If your account is suspended or your content is removed, you may submit an appeal through the in-app appeals process. Appeals are usually assessed by automated review. We will make reasonable efforts to review appeals in a timely manner, but we are not obligated to reverse any enforcement action. Enforcement decisions, including decisions on appeal, may be made by automated systems. If you believe a decision was wrong, you can contact us at support@superblock.social and a person will review it. We cannot commit to a response time, and we may uphold the original decision, but we are able to reverse any enforcement action.
6.4 Effect of Suspension or Ban
If your account is suspended or banned, you may not create a new account or attempt to access the Service through any other means during the suspension or ban period. Circumventing a suspension or ban is a further violation of these Terms and may result in permanent account termination.
6.5 No Obligation to Monitor
We have the right, but not the obligation, to monitor, review, screen, or remove User Content or activity on the Service. We are not the author or publisher of User Content, and we do not endorse or verify it. Our decision not to take enforcement action in a particular case does not waive our right to act in any other case, and nothing in these Terms creates a duty on our part to monitor the Service or to detect, prevent, or remove any particular content or conduct.
7. User Content
7.1 Ownership
You retain ownership of all content you create, submit, or transmit through the Service ("User Content"), including messages, group names, group descriptions, bios, and usernames.
7.2 License to Superblock
By submitting User Content to the Service, you grant Superblock a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, store, transmit, display, and process your User Content solely for the purpose of operating, providing, and improving the Service. This license includes the right to transmit your messages to intended recipients, display your profile information to other users, and process your content through our moderation systems.
This license does not grant Superblock any right to use your User Content for marketing, advertising, or any purpose unrelated to operating the Service. This license terminates when you delete your User Content or your account, except to the extent that copies exist in the accounts of other users (such as messages already delivered to recipients) or as required for legitimate operational purposes (such as moderation records and backup archives subject to our data retention schedule).
7.3 Responsibility for User Content
You are solely responsible for your User Content and the consequences of sharing it. You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to submit your User Content and that your User Content does not violate these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or the rights of any third party.
8. Prohibited Activities
In addition to the Community Guidelines in Section 5, you agree not to engage in any of the following activities:
- Bots and Automation: Using bots, scripts, crawlers, or any automated means to access, interact with, or collect data from the Service without our prior written consent.
- Scraping: Scraping, harvesting, or extracting data from the Service, including user profiles, group information, match data, or any other content available through the Service.
- Commercial Use: Using the Service for any commercial purpose, including advertising, solicitation, promotion of products or services, or any other revenue-generating activity, without our prior written consent.
- Circumvention: Attempting to circumvent, disable, or interfere with any security, rate-limiting, moderation, or enforcement features of the Service, including location validation systems, device integrity checks, and bot detection mechanisms.
- Device Tampering: Using rooted, jailbroken, or otherwise modified devices to access the Service; using emulators, virtual machines, or modified app binaries; or employing any technique to bypass device integrity verification.
- Reverse Engineering: Reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling, or otherwise attempting to derive the source code of the Service or any part thereof.
- Interference: Interfering with or disrupting the Service, servers, or networks connected to the Service, including through denial-of-service attacks, flooding, or any other malicious activity.
- Location Spoofing: Using mock location providers, emulated GPS signals, VPNs, proxies, or any other means to falsify or manipulate your geographic location.
- Account Abuse: Creating multiple accounts, sharing accounts with other individuals, selling or transferring your account, or creating accounts on behalf of others.
- Manipulation: Manipulating the matching system, aura ratings, leaderboards, or any other platform feature through deceptive or artificial means.
- Sensitive Personal and Financial Information: Using the Service to transmit sensitive personal or financial information such as social security numbers, national identity numbers, passport numbers, driver’s license numbers, credit card numbers, bank account details, or other payment credentials. Sharing spam, phishing links, scam links, or any content designed to defraud or deceive other users.
- Other Illegal Activity: Using the Service for any purpose that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law, whether or not such activity is specifically enumerated in these Terms or the Community Guidelines.
8.1 Good-Faith Security Research
We welcome reports of security vulnerabilities. Good-faith security research is exempt from the Reverse Engineering and Circumvention restrictions above, provided you follow our security disclosure policy: do not access, modify, or delete data belonging to other users; do not degrade or disrupt the Service; use only test accounts you control; and give us reasonable time to remediate before disclosing publicly. Research conducted within those limits is authorized, and we will not pursue legal action over it.
9. Location Data
Certain features of the Service, including group matching, require access to your geographic location. Location sharing is opt-in and can be enabled or disabled at any time through in-app settings and device permissions.
When location sharing is enabled:
- We collect your latitude, longitude, city, region, and country to facilitate proximity-based matching. We store only your most recent position, not a history of where you have been, and we derive geohashes (coarse geographic zones) from it.
- We never send coordinates back to the app, and other users may only see your approximate location (city and region) and an approximate distance. Your own coordinates are included in the data export you can request at any time.
- We perform validation checks to ensure location accuracy and detect spoofing. These checks include comparing GPS coordinates against IP-based geolocation and checking for mock location providers.
For full details on how we collect, use, and protect your location data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
10. Intellectual Property
10.1 Superblock’s Intellectual Property
The Service and all of its contents, features, and functionality-including but not limited to the software, code, design, text, graphics, logos, icons, user interface, and the underlying algorithms and architecture-are owned by superblock.social LLC and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Nothing in these Terms grants you any right, title, or interest in the Service or our intellectual property, except for the limited right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.
10.2 Trademarks
"Superblock," the Superblock logo, and all related names, marks, and slogans are trademarks or service marks of superblock.social LLC. You may not use our trademarks without our prior written permission.
10.3 Feedback
If you provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the Service ("Feedback"), you grant Superblock a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide license to use, modify, and incorporate that Feedback into the Service without any obligation to you.
11. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy, available within the Service and at superblock.social, describes how we collect, use, store, and disclose your personal information. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
Key privacy features of Superblock include:
- All group and match conversations are protected by end-to-end encryption. We cannot read your messages unless a specific message is reported for moderation.
- Email addresses are stored in encrypted form, alongside a separate one-way hash used for account lookup, and never in readable plaintext.
- Message content is permanently deleted within 45 days.
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
- We keep only your most recent position, never a history of past locations, and reduce it to geohashes (coarse geographic zones). Coordinates are never returned to the app or shared with any user.
12. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SUPERBLOCK DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Without limiting the foregoing, Superblock does not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
- Any matches or group interactions will be satisfactory, safe, or appropriate.
- Any information provided by other users is accurate, truthful, or complete.
- The Service will meet your specific requirements or expectations.
You acknowledge that Superblock connects you with other users and groups whose identities, intentions, and behavior are beyond our control. You use the Service and interact with other users at your own risk. Superblock is not responsible for the conduct of any user, whether online or offline.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SUPERBLOCK, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:
- Your access to, use of, or inability to access or use the Service.
- Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service, including any defamatory, offensive, or illegal conduct of other users.
- Any content obtained from the Service.
- Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.
13.1 Offline and In-Person Interactions
SUPERBLOCK DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS OR IDENTITY VERIFICATION ON USERS. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER USERS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SUPERBLOCK SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGE, OR LOSS OF ANY KIND, WHETHER DIRECT OR INDIRECT, ARISING FROM ANY MEETING, COMMUNICATION, OR INTERACTION BETWEEN YOU AND ANY OTHER USER THAT TAKES PLACE OUTSIDE THE SERVICE, INCLUDING IN PERSON. THIS INCLUDES ANY DEATH, BODILY INJURY, EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, HARASSMENT, STALKING, ASSAULT, THEFT, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR OTHER HARM ARISING FROM SUCH AN INTERACTION, WHETHER OR NOT THE INTERACTION ORIGINATED THROUGH A MATCH, A GROUP, PROXIMITY-BASED DISCOVERY, OR ANY OTHER FEATURE OF THE SERVICE.
We encourage you to exercise caution and good judgment when interacting with people you meet through the Service, particularly when meeting in person for the first time.
13.2 Lost Message History
Because your conversations are end-to-end encrypted, your encryption keys are generated and held on your device, and we do not have copies of them. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Superblock shall not be liable for the loss of message history or other content resulting from the loss, deletion, reset, or unavailability of those keys, including where you uninstall the app, clear app storage, lose access to a device, or otherwise cause the keys stored on your device to be destroyed. We cannot recover this content for you.
13.3 Aggregate Cap
IN NO EVENT SHALL SUPERBLOCK’S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE, WHETHER FOR DIRECT OR INDIRECT DAMAGES AND REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY, EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO SUPERBLOCK IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100).
THE LIMITATIONS IN THIS SECTION 13 APPLY REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, STATUTE, OR OTHERWISE, AND EVEN IF SUPERBLOCK HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
13.4 Basis of the Bargain
THE DISCLAIMERS IN SECTION 12 AND THE LIMITATIONS IN THIS SECTION 13 FORM AN ESSENTIAL BASIS OF THE BARGAIN BETWEEN YOU AND SUPERBLOCK, AND THEY APPLY EVEN IF ANY LIMITED REMEDY IS FOUND TO HAVE FAILED OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE. SUPERBLOCK WOULD NOT PROVIDE THE SERVICE ON THE TERMS OFFERED WITHOUT THESE LIMITATIONS.
13.5 Exceptions
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES. IN SUCH JURISDICTIONS, THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS SHALL APPLY TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
14. Indemnification
14.1 Your Indemnity
YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY, DEFEND, AND HOLD HARMLESS superblock.social LLC, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES (EACH AN “INDEMNIFIED PARTY”) FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DAMAGES, LOSSES, LIABILITIES, JUDGMENTS, SETTLEMENTS, COSTS, AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING REASONABLE ATTORNEYS’ FEES, EXPERT FEES, AND COURT COSTS) ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO:
- Your use of or access to the Service.
- Your User Content.
- Your violation of these Terms or the Community Guidelines.
- Your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party, including any intellectual property, privacy, or publicity right.
- Any dispute between you and another user of the Service.
- Any meeting or interaction between you and another user that takes place outside the Service, including any harm you cause to another person.
- Any misrepresentation you make regarding your age or your eligibility to use the Service under Section 1.
- Your negligence or willful misconduct.
14.2 Defense and Settlement
We will use reasonable efforts to notify you of any claim subject to this Section 14, though our failure to do so will not relieve you of your obligations except to the extent you are materially prejudiced by the delay.
We reserve the right, at your expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you. If we do, you agree to cooperate with us in asserting any available defenses and to provide any information and assistance we reasonably request. You may not settle, compromise, or consent to the entry of any judgment in any matter subject to this Section 14 without our prior written consent, which we will not unreasonably withhold.
Your obligations under this Section 14 survive termination of these Terms and deletion of your account.
14.3 Limits on This Indemnity
This indemnity does not apply to the extent a claim arises from an Indemnified Party’s own gross negligence, willful misconduct, or fraud.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, this Section 14 applies only to the extent permitted by the mandatory consumer protection law of your country of residence.
15. Dispute Resolution
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING YOUR RIGHT TO FILE A LAWSUIT IN COURT AND TO HAVE A JURY TRIAL.
15.1 Informal Resolution
Before initiating any formal dispute resolution proceeding, you agree to first contact us at support@superblock.social and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least thirty (30) days. Most concerns can be resolved this way.
15.2 Binding Arbitration
If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Arbitration shall be conducted by a single arbitrator. The arbitration shall take place in Hennepin County, Minnesota, or at another mutually agreed location, or may be conducted remotely (by telephone or video conference) at the request of either party.
This Section 15 evidences a transaction involving interstate commerce, and the Federal Arbitration Act, 9 U.S.C. § 1 et seq., governs the interpretation and enforcement of this Section 15.
The arbitrator shall have the authority to award any relief that would be available in a court of competent jurisdiction. The arbitrator’s award shall be final and binding, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction.
15.3 Delegation
You and Superblock agree that the arbitrator, and not any federal, state, or local court or agency, shall have exclusive authority to resolve any dispute relating to the interpretation, applicability, enforceability, or formation of this Section 15, including any claim that all or any part of this Section 15 is void or voidable. The arbitrator shall also decide whether a given claim is subject to arbitration. The sole exception is that a court, and not an arbitrator, has exclusive authority to decide whether the Class Action Waiver in Section 15.4 is enforceable.
15.4 Class Action Waiver
YOU AND SUPERBLOCK AGREE THAT ANY DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROCEEDINGS SHALL BE CONDUCTED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. IF FOR ANY REASON A CLAIM PROCEEDS IN COURT RATHER THAN IN ARBITRATION, YOU AND SUPERBLOCK EACH WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL. You agree that you may bring claims against Superblock only in your individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, consolidated, or representative proceeding.
If a court decides that applicable law prevents this Class Action Waiver from being enforced as to a particular claim for relief, then that claim for relief, and only that claim, shall be severed from the arbitration and may be brought in the state or federal courts located in the State of Minnesota. All other claims shall remain subject to arbitration, and severing one claim does not affect the enforceability of the rest of this Section 15.
15.5 Small Claims Court Exception
Notwithstanding the above, either party may bring an individual action in small claims court for disputes within the court’s jurisdictional limits.
15.6 Injunctive Relief for Platform Abuse and Intellectual Property
Notwithstanding the agreement to arbitrate, either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent or stop the actual or threatened infringement, misappropriation, or violation of that party’s intellectual property rights, or to address unauthorized access to, scraping of, or interference with the Service as described in Section 8. Seeking such relief does not waive either party’s right to arbitrate any other claim.
15.7 Opt-Out
You may opt out of the arbitration provisions and the Class Action Waiver in this Section 15 by sending written notice to support@superblock.social within thirty (30) days of first accepting these Terms. Your notice must include your name, username, email address associated with your account, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of arbitration. If you opt out, the jury trial waiver in Section 15.4 also does not apply to you, and the remaining provisions of these Terms will continue to apply.
15.8 Nothing Limits Your Right to Contact a Government Agency
Nothing in this Section 15 prevents you from reporting a concern to, or filing a complaint or charge with, any federal, state, or local government agency or regulator.
16. Governing Law
These Terms and any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
To the extent that any lawsuit or court proceeding is permitted under these Terms (including the small claims court exception in Section 15.5, the injunctive relief exception in Section 15.6, or if the arbitration provision is found unenforceable), you and Superblock agree to submit to the exclusive personal jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Hennepin County, Minnesota.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, nothing in this Section 16 deprives you of the protection afforded to you by mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
17. Termination
17.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by deleting your account through the in-app settings. Upon account deletion, we erase your personal data as described in Section 7.2 of our Privacy Policy, which also sets out the limited categories of data we retain after deletion and the circumstances in which deletion may be delayed. Messages already delivered to other users may persist in their accounts until those messages expire under our data retention schedule.
17.2 Termination by Superblock
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice, including but not limited to cases where:
- You violate these Terms or the Community Guidelines.
- We are required to do so by law.
- Your account has been inactive for an extended period.
- We reasonably believe your account poses a security risk to the Service or other users.
- We discontinue the Service or any material part of it.
17.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination of your account, your right to use the Service immediately ceases. You will be removed from all groups and active matches. The following provisions of these Terms survive termination: Sections 4 (Subscriptions and Payments, as to any amounts accrued before termination), 7 (User Content), 8 (Prohibited Activities), 10 (Intellectual Property), 11 (Privacy), 12 (Disclaimers), 13 (Limitation of Liability), 14 (Indemnification), 15 (Dispute Resolution), 16 (Governing Law), this Section 17.3, 18 (Third-Party Services), 20 (General Provisions), and 21 (Contact Us).
18. Third-Party Services
The Service may integrate with or rely on third-party services, including but not limited to:
- OAuth authentication providers (Google, Apple, and Microsoft).
- App Stores (Apple App Store, Google Play Store) for distribution and payment processing.
- RevenueCat for subscription management.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications.
- Cloudflare for content delivery, bot protection, and Turnstile verification.
Your use of these third-party services is governed by their respective terms of service and privacy policies. Superblock is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of any third-party service.
18.1 Additional Terms for Apple App Store Users
The following applies if you obtain the Superblock app from the Apple App Store:
- These Terms are between you and superblock.social LLC only, not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Superblock, not Apple, is solely responsible for the Service and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services for the Service.
- If the Service fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the Service.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to the Service, including product liability claims, any claim that the Service fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, or claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.
- Apple is not responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, or discharge of any third-party claim that the Service infringes that third party's intellectual property rights.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the Service, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make material changes, we will:

20. General Provisions
20.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, constitute the entire agreement between you and Superblock regarding the Service and supersede all prior or contemporaneous agreements, understandings, and representations.
20.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving the original intent.
20.3 Waiver
No waiver of any provision of these Terms shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such provision or any other provision. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
20.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. Superblock may assign its rights and obligations under these Terms without your consent in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganization, or sale of all or substantially all of its assets.
20.5 No Third-Party Beneficiaries
These Terms do not create any third-party beneficiary rights, except as expressly provided in Section 18.1 with respect to Apple Inc. and its subsidiaries. No other person or entity has any rights under these Terms.
20.6 Force Majeure
Superblock shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government, internet or telecommunications failures, cyberattacks, pandemics, or other force majeure events.
